1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how The Media Calendar (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use themediacalendar.com (the “Service”).
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address, name, and authentication data (including hashed passwords if you create a password-based account).
- Profile information (optional): company, title, company email, location, and LinkedIn profile URL (if provided).
- Subscriptions and preferences: events you follow, subscription type (full/custom), filtering preferences, and consent flags (e.g., email/calendar consent and terms acceptance).
- Event submissions and content: information you submit to list an event (e.g., title, dates, location, description, links, and source).
- Speaker profile information (optional): If you create a speaker profile for the speaker directory, we may collect display name, pronouns, company, role, location (country/region/city), timezone, bio, talk formats, availability preferences, contact email/phone (with visibility controls), past speaking engagements, and credentials. Published profiles are visible to event organizers and admins.
- Calendar integration and Google sign-in: If you sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar, we receive your Google account identity (email, name, profile) and OAuth tokens. We use Google Calendar API access to create/update/delete events you choose to sync. We do not use Google user data for advertising.
- Usage and device data: basic log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps (typically collected automatically by hosting/infrastructure).
- Personal calendar feed token: When you create an account, we generate a unique token used to build your personalized iCal feed URL. Anyone with this URL can access your subscription feed. Treat your feed URL as confidential and do not share it publicly.
